Registration of New Students
Enrollment is open to all legal residents who reside within the school boundaries in Harwood Heights.
School District 86 specifies that, to enter kindergarten, children must be five years of age on or before September 1st of their kindergarten year. Students who do not meet the age requirement will not be enrolled early. To enter first grade, a child must be six years of age on or before September 1st.
Students transferring into the school district will be accepted at the grade level recommended by the school of previous enrollment, unless the parent and building principal agree on other assignment in the best interest of the child.
Enrollment Checklist
Parent or legal guardian must pick up an enrollment packet from the school office prior to registration. Packets may be picked up from the district office, located at 4600 N. Oak Park Ave, Harwood Heights.
Please provide the following when you return to the school (or district office) to register:
- Completed forms
- Fee payment
- Proof of Harwood Heights residency (see Verification of Residency Form)
- Certified birth certificate (not the hospital certificate).
- Proof of physical examination and current immunizations
Registration for Continuing Students
Registration takes place each spring. Parents must prove residency each year by providing proof of residency. The complete registration packet is available to view and download from this page.
School Lunch Program
The lunch program begins on the first full day of school and is in operation each full day school is in session. Menus are posted online. For more information, please visit the Food Services page of this website.
