On October 17, U.R.S. welcomed Marina Lenza, Director of the Education Office at the Italian Consulate, and Italian authors Loris Giuratti and Paolo Malaguti to celebrate the XXIV Week of the Italian Language in the World 2024. This year’s theme, “The Book and Italian: The World Between the Lines,” highlighted the role of literature in bridging cultures.

Our 6th grade Italian students had the unique opportunity to meet the authors, learn about Venice, and create their own stories using Italian vocabulary and characters. This workshop fostered teamwork and improved language skills, while deepening students' appreciation for Italian culture. The students’ final stories and thank-you notes were shared with the authors, who praised their enthusiasm and engagement with Italian language and culture.

This enriching experience helped spark curiosity for foreign cultures, enhancing both reading and writing skills.
