Today marked a significant milestone for the Italian Program at Union Ridge School. A designated group of sixth and seventh-grade Italian students proudly represented their peers in the official ceremony for the signing of the “Cooperation and Exchange Agreement” between Union Ridge School and the “Alessandro Manzoni Institute” of Legnano, Milan, Italy. The ceremony, held at Ridgewood High School, coincided with a visit to the Italian Program by a delegation from the Lombardy Region, led by President Fontana, the Italian Consul General Thomas Botzios and the director of the Educational Office, Marina Lenza.
With this agreement, the two schools have embarked on a three-year international collaboration. This collaboration aims to foster Pen Pal relationships among students and facilitate group projects that stimulate collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving. The initiative also focuses on enhancing linguistic skills in both Italian and English, as well as fostering a deeper understanding of Italian and American cultural exchanges. These elements are fundamental as our students prepare to become global citizens.
This partnership signifies a remarkable opportunity for cultural exchange and academic growth, enriching the educational experience of students at Union Ridge School.
