During the week of Red Ribbon, Union Ridge School Students attended a presentation from Robert Crown Center for Health Education titled "Science Behind Drugs: Foundations". Students learned about how drugs affect the brain and body and strategies for handling peer pressure and coping skills for navigating adolescence. They learned refusal skills when facing unhealthy situations. REFUSE, EXPLAIN, AVOID and LEAVE (REAL). Also, notice Harwood Heights D.A.R.E. Officer Mike Latino coming by to participate with the kids!
Thank you Robert Crown Center for Health Education!
