As always, our Fine Arts Fair was a wonderful event that showcased and recognized the achievement of all of our students. It was clearly evident through each performance and piece of art displayed that fine arts helps us connect with ourselves, each other, and the wider world. Entering the school, one could not help but be drawn to the student created artwork that lined the hallways. Smiles, glued to the faces of students and families, were a familiar site as all participated in an wonderful night that celebrated our school community!
Across grade levels, students performed in a variety of ways. Students in grades 1-4 performed dance routines to a variety of songs led by our P.E. department. Each performance was based on a theme where students not only performed choreographic moves but dressed for the occasion. 7th grade Italian students created and developed a fashion show focused on famous Italian clothing designers. Students not only emceed the show in Italian but also participated as models and walked the runway. Middle School Speech and Drama performed a variety acts including both comedy and drama. Rounding out the evening were both vocal and instrumental performances. The vocal stylings of Kindergarten, as well as the URS Chorus were displayed. Additionally, students from 5th grade demonstrated their proficiency on the recorder. The jazz band, middle school guitar students, and band ensembles gave delightful performances showcasing their musical talents.
We are proud of both our teachers and students for creating a wonderful Fine Art Fair this year!
