Let’s All Wear Red, White and Blue - to show our Citizenship!
Tuesday, October 23rd, Union Ridge School students and staff participated in the annual Red Ribbon Week Walk. Union Ridge students in Early Childhood through Eighth grade walked together through the neighborhood to show how important it is to be DRUG FREE! Union Ridge parents and community members were out to cheer on the students as they walked to support a healthy drug-free lifestyle.
URS celebrates Red Ribbon Week with many schools and communities across the country. The purpose of this campaign is to raise awareness of the drug use and drug abuse in our youth and to take steps to prevent it. Union Ridge School tries to promote being DRUG FREE by making healthy choices. During Red Ribbon Week, students really show their healthy selves in everything they do. In keeping with this year’s Character Education theme, Citizenship – United We Stand, students were encouraged to wear red, white, and blue and ‘unite’ across grade levels for the walk!
