Union Ridge Students recently participated with other schools throughout Illinois in a very worthwhile project called the American Flag World Record Signature Campaign. Over the past few weeks students have signed a panel that will be stitched to 500 other fabric panels from Illinois schools and sewn to the underside of an American Flag. The 500 signed panels will equal 10,000 square feet with the goal of over 125,000 signatures, setting a world record. As part of this campaign students had the opportunity to donate to The Charity Stripe, which is an organization raising money for Illinois military families. The money raised through The American Flag Signature Campaign will help fulfill special holiday wishes for deserving Illinois military families.
