2017 Red Ribbon Week Events

Respect Is Key - Stay Drug Free!

URS celebrates Red Ribbon Week with many schools and communities across the country. The purpose of this campaign is to raise awareness of the drug use and drug abuse in our youth and to take steps to prevent it.  Here at URS we try to promote being DRUG FREE by making healthy choices. During Red Ribbon Week, let’s really show our healthy selves in everything we do. Let’s do it!

Monday, October 23rd- We Rock - Drug Free!

Students and staff are invited to wear a shirt with a favorite band/performer that promotes how Huskies rock at being students who respect themselves, each other, and their community.

Tuesday, October 24th- Let’s All Wear Red! *

Today we will all walk in our community to show how important it is to be DRUG FREE!   The walk will begin at 1:30pm and students and staff will walk through our neighborhood.  (Colleen can start calling down classes at 1:15)
In order to keep everyone safe, we ask that only Union Ridge School students and staff participate in our walk.
We hope parents and community members will cheer us on as we walk.
Please see route on back of this announcement.

Wednesday, October 25th  - Being DRUG FREE is No Sweat!

No, we aren’t just kicking back or being lazy!  URS Huskies are wearing sweatshirts and sweatpants to show we exercise to keep our bodies and minds drug free and are students who respect themselves, each other, and their community!

Thursday, October 26th  - I’m a JEAN-ius, I’m DRUG FREE!

Wear jeans today.  No rips or holes, please. I am a student who respects myself by being DRUG FREE!

Friday, October 27th  - Students Who Show Respect are Paws-itively DRUG FREE!
