Former Husky visits Union Ridge as Firefighter/Paramedic

After 20 years, Firefighter/Paramedic Dan Hesslau returned to Union Ridge School to visit his former First Grade teacher and teach the first graders about fire safety. He is a perfect example that you can live your dream with hard work and determination.

Not only were fire safety rules taught and discussed but Firefighter Dan demonstrated that when firefighters are fully outfitted in their turnout suits, including their eye screens and oxygen masks, real-life firefighters can be intimidating figures, especially when they speak like Darth Vader

The First Grade class would like to extend a special “thank you” Firefighter/Paramedic Dan for a wonderful job helping the first grade students to learn about fire safety, and for letting Superintendent Mr. Maguire try on his fire gear! We are so proud of him and thank him for his dedicated service. Good, better, BEST
