After reading the novel, Esperanza Rising by Pam Munoz Ryan, Mrs. Wilk’s 5th grade LA Enrichment students created movie trailers for the book. Working individually, students had to decide on the important characters, settings, and events to be highlighted in their trailers. Students focused on finding appropriate images to portray characters, setting, and events in the novel. Students’ tasks were to make a trailer that would entice other 5th graders to read the novel without giving away too much of the plot.
